| The Antik Road Show….
Just like fine collectables, the Antik jeans
are uniquely distinguished with their signature ornate details,
distinctive relaxed fit and the potential to age well. Confirmed
fashion collectors who have discovered Antik in a deep blue sea
of designer denims include Kate Hudson,
Cameron Diaz, Hilary
Duff, Paris Hilton, Eva
Longoria, Jennifer Lopez,
Paula Abdul, Tara
Reid, Patricia Heaton, Virginia
Madsen and Jillian Barberie.
This spanking-new premium line, with price points in the $200 range,
is clearly inspired by some of the most covetable denim pieces on
earth—authentic Western and workwear designs dating back to
the 1900s through 1940s which are and have been all the rage in
Europe and Asia. To achieve its standout characteristics, both the
men’s and women’s jeans are fashioned from high-end
Japanese fabrics and embellished with hand-wrought embroidery, whip
stitching and leather patches. This assures the jeans come out looking
like the “genuine articles”
from that by-gone era.
This treasure of a concept is the brainchild of Philippe
Naouri and Alexandre Caugant,
two high-profile French denim innovators. Naouri made his mark by
putting such international brands as Diesel, Levi’s and G-Star
on the high-fashion map while Caugant registered on the fashion
radar via his development of the GOA brand in France. As their brand
and collection took shape, the dynamic duo joined forces with fellow
denim tycoon Paul Guez and his
company Blue Concept. With several collective decades of experience
behind them, they set the Antik road show into motion.
“Each pair by design is a one of a kind original,” Naouri
says. “Every year we plan to create a collection based on
timeless American/Western styles
and cuts. However, because we are about fashion, there will always
be a modern edge worked in one way or another.”
This label, which bowed at the MAGIC Show in Las Vegas last August
has already roped in a number of impressive retailers such as Barney’s
New York, Fred Segal, Bloomingdale’s
and Selfridges in London. The round-up
of the complete collection can be viewed at www.antikdenim.com.
This week 2 lucky winners will rustle
up their own pair of Antik jeans.
