Paris Hilton has described so
many diverse things as “hot” that by now (sorry, dear),
the adjective has become a cliché. However, her trademark
compliment does hit the mark when it comes to CeaSwim,
a bright, cheerful and user-friendly line of swimwear she discovered
on day one of the Silver Spoon Hollywood
Buffet back in January. Like a carefully constructed café
menu, there are just enough colors and styles to keep one interested
and yet there is also something that will work with every taste
and body type thanks to the range of sizes Vancouver-based designers
Cea Adams and Janette
Maedel make available.
Adams and Maedel describe their formula of success as the “5
F’s”-fit, function, femininity, fashion and fun. In
the “fit” category, Maedel (a veteran underwear pattern
maker) channeled her obsession with “perfect
bum fit” into creating bottoms that hit a variety of
wearers in all the right places. In terms of “function,”
Adams believes that if it is not comfortable and doesn’t stay
in place, why bother? So she does bother, with careful attention
paid to linings, paddings and elasticized spaghetti straps that
keep the look together—wet or dry.
The rest of CeaSwim’s perfect swimsuit is “filled
out” with great prints and colors (“fun”)
and flattering silhouettes (“fashion”
and “femininity”),
they’ve got a legion of famous fans that include Eva
La Rue, Deidre Hall, Lindsay
Lohan, Melissa Rivers, Q’orianka
Kilcher, Taraji
Henson,
Haylie Duff and Nicolette Sheridan
that, true to their philosophy, run the gamut of age and body types.
