Your Moment of Zen

The StyleLounge, staged for talent, executives and media attending the Emmys “StyleLounge” at Chaz Dean Studios (under the astute direction of Kari Feinstein and Phil Viardo), was one of Fall 2004’s most talked-about fashion events.

Though there were wonderful beauty products, jewelry and clothing lines represented (some of which we hope will turn up in our style section soon), we believe a lot of the event’s success lay in the venue itself as well as the demeanor of its namesake host, Chaz Dean. What may have been the usual hustle-and-bustle was instead a very Zen kind of scene with everybody in an uncharacteristically relaxed mood.

The good news is that you do not have to wait for an award show or be a nominee to experience Dean’s brand of VIP well-being and pampering. The salon, which offered services to Nia Vardalos, Teri Hatcher, Roma Maffia (“Nip/Tuck”) and others, makes them available all year round. Regular clientele taking advantage of what Dean has to offer includes Julianna Margulies, Jamie-Lynn Discala, Cloris Leachman, Neve Campbell, Allison Janney, Ming-Na and Lisa Rinna. Among the hallmarks of the Chaz Dean Studio salon is precision color, color correction, cuts tailored for “challenging” hair textures, ethnic haircare options and the utterly delicious Wen Haircare collection. Wen (available in different formulas for different hair texture types) is the only one of its kind. With its luxuriant consistency, unique cleansing properties and gorgeous, subtle fragrances, Wen is a far cry from hair products available at ordinary pharmacies.

At our salon, we are all about educating the client on how to maintain the health of his or her hair, and teaching them about the best products to use and the right way to use them,” says Dean. “ It's all about the health and integrity of the hair.

In addition to extraordinary hair care, there are other aspects to Chaz Dean’s space that makes it even more of a retreat than the average salon. The converted craftsman-style home also has beautifully manicured gardens and an adjacent bungalow not only selling the Wen products, but also exquisite home furnishings and accessories hand-picked by the rock star-like Dean during his travels around the world. For more information, visit www.chazdean.com.

This week, One lucky winner will get the star treatment from Chaz Dean and his crew, while 2 runners up will receive a Wen collection gift basket similar to the one celebrity invitees received at the StyleLounge.

Winners will be randomly selected and promptly notified October 18, 2004. US only. Rules
