We know what some of you may be thinking…that we may have
strayed from our usual mission to bring you designers, innovators
and taste makers just beginning to hit the scene. And Citizens
of Humanity is undoubtedly established… thanks in part
to the prominence of how Jerome Dahan
and Michael Glasser, creators of
the original Se7en Jeans, broke
away dramatically to create the C of H brand that certainly captured
the imagination of fashionistas everywhere.
You also probably know that Citizens of Humanity jeans are also
prominent wardrobe staples for celebrities like (names
here). And if you have bought into this legend, you are probably
enamored with the nicely-spaced signature “H” pockets,
figure flattering cuts as the Ingrid
(slim on top, flared on the bottom) and the Kelly
(similar to Ingrid but with a slightly-higher waistband), and the
comfy fabrics. You also may be aware that Dahan and Glasser are
endeavoring to be authentic “Citizens of Humanity” by
donating a portion of their sales to Conservation
International to benefit the environment and world at large.
But there are some new things on the horizon for Dahan and Glasser’s
label. The Faye Jeans, a trouser
style jean with a wide leg (a sensation among celebrities invited
to the ultra exclusive HBO Pre-Emmy Lounge at the Peninsula Hotel
last fall) is not only dressier than the standard five pocket pant,
but is kind to curves with its dart-tailored yoke. There is also
a new offering of sporty-but-sophisticated Henley
and Cowel-Neck tops in an array
of rich hues that really pull the look together.
(Anything new for men?)
