Frownies™ Facelift in a Bag

Something to Smile About

In a city where plastic surgery is as routine as dental checkups, spas replace Starbucks as the hangout of choice and we fashionistas gobble up the latest skin care like Easter candy, the company that introduced a sweet beauty treat called Frownies a century ago is poised to make a proposition that sounds almost too good to be true, especially with the $99 price tag: Facelift in a Bag by Frownies.

While packaged "beauty to go" kits are always appealing, especially with the way we travel (and, unfortunately, have to travel) these days, the new Frownies kit offers far more than just skincare mobility for men and women. This introductory system is designed to fend off and reverse some of the effects of aging, pollution and sun damage with the now-popular Frownies Facial Pads (that diminish wrinkles around the eyebrows, forehead, corners of the mouth and delicate eye area without injections or procedures. Bolstering the pads™ effects are a rose water hydrator spray for plumping and toning; a pH balance complexion wash and an antioxidant rich wrinkle cream which also tones and shores up the jawline.

Though the beauty field is notorious for bombarding our senses and wallets with the newest, latest and greatest, it is fascinating to note that Frownies pre-dates all of the "modern" remedies for wrinkles, sagging skin and other aging factors. In 1889, Margaret Kroesen (possibly one of the first show-biz moms) developed a special product for concert pianist daughter Alice to help her maintain her youthful appeal on stage. First known as "Wrinkle Eradicators," Alice became a living billboard for the product. Alice eventually took over the family business, and later passed it on to Margaret Wright, who in the 1960s modernized the packaging and the appeal, but keeping the formula intact. The baton and the pads more recently have passed to Kathy Wright, who has once again updated the look of the packaging and brought the company into the digital age (www.frownies.com).

This week, one lucky reader will win a complete Facelift in a Bag by Frownies.

Winners will be randomly selected and notified March 10, 2008. US only. Rules
